New Oregon Energy Rebate Programs Launching in 2026

Starting in 2026, Oregon is rolling out new state-administered energy rebate programs designed to help homeowners save even more on energy-efficient upgrades and home electrification projects.

These programs are funded at the federal level and administered by the Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE). While full details and eligibility requirements are still being finalized, these rebates are expected to support upgrades such as:

  • High-efficiency heat pumps

  • Electric heating and cooling systems

  • Energy-saving home improvements that reduce overall energy use

Unlike traditional utility rebates, some of these new programs are expected to offer point-of-sale savings, meaning qualifying rebates may be applied upfront rather than after installation.

Because these programs are new, availability, income requirements, and qualifying equipment details may vary as they roll out throughout 2026. When you work with Chase Heating & Cooling, our team will stay up to date on these programs and help you understand how they may apply to your project as details become available.

If you’re planning an upgrade and want to time it around upcoming incentives, we’re happy to talk through your options and help you plan ahead.

Federal HVAC Tax Credits for Energy-Efficient Upgrades

The Energy Efficient Home Improvement Tax Credit (Section 25C) helps homeowners get 30% of their project costs back when installing qualifying energy-saving upgrades. It’s part of the Inflation Reduction Act, available through December 31, 2025.

Eligible upgrades include:

  • High-efficiency heat pumps
  • Air conditioners
  • Furnaces
  • Certain insulation and window improvements

A few key things to remember:

  • The credit is nonrefundable, meaning you won’t get a refund check, but it will likely lower the amount of taxes you owe. Think of it as a discount on your tax bill for choosing energy-efficient upgrades.
  • You can claim it every year that you make qualifying improvements
  • There’s no lifetime cap on how many times you can claim this tax credit
  • The home where you are making these updates must be your primary residence within the United States of America.

Hold onto your receipts and product paperwork so your tax preparer can easily file IRS Form 5695 when it’s time to claim your credit. If you’re unsure where to start, we can point you toward helpful resources.

Note: This is a federal program, not part of the Energy Trust of Oregon rebates. You may be eligible for both.

Current reporting indicates these credits are set to expire on December 31, 2025, after which they may not be available in the same form in 2026 unless Congress extends them.

Local & Utility Rebates Available in Oregon (2025–2026)

Along with federal tax credits, there are great local rebate programs available here in Oregon. When you work with Chase Heating & Cooling, our team will help you find out which rebates and incentives apply to your project, so you don’t leave any savings on the table.

Some common rebate opportunities include:

  • Energy Trust of Oregon rebates for qualifying equipment (available through participating Trade Allies such as Chase Heating & Cooling). Rebate availability and amounts may vary by program year.

  • Utility rebates through PGE, NW Natural, and other local providers

  • Manufacturer rebates like Lennox, Trane, and Carrier seasonal offers that can be worth up to $5,800

Every home is different, and rebate programs can vary by city, utility provider, and timing. When you work with Chase Heating & Cooling, we’ll walk you through what’s available in your area and help confirm which incentives apply before your installation.
